Di voci a riguardo della nuova flagship di casa AMD, nome in codice GEMINI, ne abbiamo avute tante, fin dalla sua primissima comparsa all'E3 2015.
Promossa come la RADEON piu veloce di sempre, questa soluzione prevede l'utilizzo di due GPU Fiji XT, la stessa gpu presente sulle Radeon, R9 Nano, Fury e Fury X, quindi con 4GB di memoria HBM per un totale di 8GB complessivi ed un totale di 1TB/s di larghezza di banda di memoria combinata.
La R9 Fury X2, inizialmente sarebbe dovuta uscire nel dicembre scorso, ma hanno preferito posticipare il tutto in attesa dell'uscita dei prodotti per la Realtà Virtuale, come Oculus Rift e HTC Vive.
Un tweet recente del tech guro Scott Wesson, passato ad AMD da un po' di tempo, suggerisce che l'attesa per la nuova soluzione grafica sta per terminare.

Giusto per fare un confronto, una sola Fury X2 equivale a più di 4 R9 380 messe assieme, inoltre si prevede possa offrire fino al 80% in più di prestazioni di gioco in 4K e 2560x1440 rispetto a una singola GPU Fiji XT cloccata alle stesse frequenze.
Non si hanno ancora dettagli sul prezzo ma impotizziamo che sicuramente non sarà inferiore ai $ 1000, e qualcosina in più per quanto riguarda noi in Italia... come sempre.
